Conservatory Roof Upgrade in Bury

Turn an unusable conservatory back into a year-round room

Most conservatories built more than ten years ago have one big problem: the roof. Polycarbonate is noisy in rain, freezing in winter, and like an oven in summer. We replace those roofs with modern insulated or glass roofs that fix all three — without rebuilding the whole conservatory.

What we do

We upgrade your existing conservatory roof to a solid tiled roof, an insulated solid + glass hybrid, or modern self-cleaning glass — depending on the look and feel you want. Most upgrades reuse your existing frames and base, so you're not paying for a full rebuild. Done in 3–7 days for a typical conservatory.

  • Solid tiled roof — best insulation, makes the conservatory feel like a proper room, Building Regs-compliant.
  • Insulated solid + glass hybrid — solid panels for insulation with skylight glass for natural light.
  • Modern self-cleaning glass — keeps the open feel but fixes the heat-and-noise problems.

Common questions

Do I need planning permission?

Usually no — most conservatory roof upgrades are permitted development. We'll tell you at the survey if your home is an exception.

Can I keep using the conservatory while the roof is being replaced?

No — but most jobs are done in 3–5 days.

How much warmer will it be?

A solid roof typically takes a polycarbonate-roof conservatory from 'unusable in winter' to 'usable year-round'. Heat retention is usually 3–4× better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add a hole to double-glazed units for a cat/dog flap or extractor fan?

Unfortunately, not into the existing glass, but we can change the glass; new glass can be manufactured with a hole to suit your requirements.

Are there different types and styles available?

There are several different types and styles of windows and doors. There is a wide variety from standard casement windows, flush sash windows, aluminium windows, and sliders. If you're not sure what and want any ideas on what style would best suit your home's natural design, then contact us to arrange a survey to discuss in more detail.

What is better uPVC door or composite door?

Composite doors are better in terms of security, thermal efficiency, quality and appearance. However, you get what you pay for. Composite doors are more expensive, and whilst they are a much better product, standard doors also offer a very high standard of security and thermal efficiency.

What is Certass?

Certass is a sort of regulator. When we issue you with a Certass certificate, this is a declaration by the installation company to the homeowner that the windows and doors installed comply with current building regulations. Certass also keep an eye on us by completing spot checks and audits on the work we do.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, we offer a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee on all replacement frames, giving our customers complete peace of mind.
